This unit has been developed and engineered based on our research and many years of practical home distillation experience. It delivers excellent efficiency compared with existing alternatives and various methods of retaining loose packing materials — from Raschig rings to spiral-prismatic packing of different sizes, suitable for columns of various diameters.
The retainer unit design provides:
- minimal resistance to reflux flow in both directions, regardless of packing density;
- improved heat and mass transfer;
- up to +15% higher collection rate without reducing product quality on the same equipment;
- the ability to increase the packed section of the column, adding theoretical plates;
- minimal unit height, especially important for tall columns;
- ease of use, long service life, and simple maintenance.
This unit helps prevent unwanted and premature column flooding while significantly increasing collection speed without compromising product quality.

Our tsarga uses a specially formed flat “tablet-shaped” retainer pad made of rigid stainless steel mesh, designed for years of reliable service. It is not made from cut pieces of RPN mesh, which may wear out over time and degrade into unusable material.
