Operating principle
The system works by creating reduced pressure, or vacuum, beneath the filtration element.
Using the syringe, two non-return valves and T-connector, air is gradually removed from the collection jar. The resulting pressure difference draws the unfiltered liquid through the silicone hose into the filtration unit.
The liquid then passes through 2–7 cotton pads positioned on a perforated support plate. The cotton pads retain sediment and fine solid particles, while the filtered liquid flows into the lower collection jar.
Operating procedure
- Connect the syringe, two non-return valves and T-connector according to the system diagram.
- Place 2–7 cotton pads on the perforated support plate.
- Assemble the filtration unit and secure it with the 2″ clamp.
- Install the system on an empty collection jar.
- Connect the vacuum assembly using the silicone hose.
- Place the inlet hose into the container with the liquid to be filtered.
- Slowly draw air out of the collection jar using the syringe.
- Monitor the filtration process and avoid excessively high flow rates.
Normally, 2–3 cotton pads are sufficient for filtering approximately 1–1.5 litres of liquid. Actual filter consumption depends on the amount of sediment and other impurities present in the liquid.
